Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole had her submit her tracks to the Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate together on a few references. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. On the 9th of November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then, in November 2013, she released No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and she released the song as a solo single to her first album. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It already has more than three million views on YouTube within its first week. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
